My sister took his picture in Big SUR area, California. I've been searching the internet for 2 hours but couldn't find anything close to it. She said the flower stalks were about 6 ft. long. She couldn't get closer because of being on private property.

agave attenuata, foxtail agave... love them since the leaves are smooth no spine at all, so like having a gigantic echeverias

YES! They are everywhere on the Central California coast.

NO, they won't grow in Yuma.

These plants are endlessly photogenic. And quite heat and cold sensitive, so as Daisy pointed out, not a good option in Yuma.
