Amsonia seeds need to be chilled for several weeks prior to planting. Since I always keep my seeds in the refrigerator can I skip the step that says to sow the seeds then put the whole thing in the cooler for a month? I'd rather sow the seeds and get them under lights.

I'm not familiar with this plant but, it could be that the straification also requires moisture, not just cold.
