The year I bought Anzac we had a bad drought. We almost ran our well dry so watering was minimal. A tough daylily it made it through that winter. The next year we had to much rain and it again hung in there. A slight increase and reasonable bloom. I tried using the pollen but it was so wet that year that most of my crosses were a bust. It does catch your eye when you enter that area of the garden. This year will be it's third here. We hope it brings perfect weather. I don't even have a good photo yet of this daylily.

I just added Anzac to my garden last year but am looking forward to its progress. I've read it's an oldie but a goodie, so expect it should do well for me here. Although many of the newer varieties call out to me I like to incorporate some of the older ones that have stood the test of time.
Here is its first bloom with its jolt of colour!
