I want to try growing string of pearls indoors but my apartment gets very little sunlight. I have never used grids lights before and I don't know where to start. How long each day should I have the light on and how close to the plant should it be? Can I put the light directly over the plant even though it doesn't like direct sunlight?

Artificial light is never nearly as intense as natural sunlight or as strong as direct sunlight. Keep whatever grow light you use as close to the plant as possible and leave it on for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
