I converted a damaged 10 gallon aquarium into a terrranium for starting some seeds early indoors. I just discovered I need heat for it. It has LED lights which do not supply enough heat.
Does anyone know what I can use to add heat for starting y seeds?

Use a plant heat mat under your aquarium. They are waterproof and usually measure about 10 x 20 inches. They are simple to use (just plug them in) and start at about $12 and go up to forever.

Amazon has them. The hard part will be deciding which one to buy (hint: the cheap one).

I use mine to make my bread rise when I'm not starting plants. Smiling

I've been thinking about your terrarium/aquarium seed starting project. One of the things you have to consider is how to get the air to move a bit. There are two reasons for wanting moving air:

1. Your plants will be less likely to be attached by fungus

2. A little bit of air movement helps plant stems grow stronger

At one point, I got a bunch of free aquarium stuff from someone who had reptiles in the tank, and one of the things I got was a heat mat for under the aquarium to keep it warm for the snake or lizard or whatever. So, you might look into whether or not they would be cheaper than one that's specifically for seed starting. I'm just thinking they would probably come in just the right size for your terrarium.

Just look for a "reptile heat mat."

Thanks Daisy and Sue I appreciate the suggestions.
Daisy I already considered the air flow issue and am going to get one of those mini fans to attach to the top of the tank.
