Gardens Alive owns several of the mail order companies.

Audubon Workshop, Breck's, Gurney's Seed, Henry Field's, Iseli Nursery, Michigan Bulb, New Holland Bulb, Spring Hill Nurseries, and Weeks Roses, all of which have been acquired from buy-outs.

I have ordered from many of these companies before they were acquired. Returns and refunds were difficult. Some of them required that you return the shipping label to get a refund:) The good old days.

Things seem much better now.

One thing I have noticed is that most of these companies offer 50% off coupons most of the year.

So, when shopping, I just google for a coupon before purchasing.

Also, when you go to one of these web sites, they will usually have a sale, like free shipping or 20% off, etc.

However, they do not stack coupons. You can use only one. So, if you find a 50% off coupon on the web, that is the only one you can use.

50% off is almost always better than free shipping.
