Hey everyone - I've had these roses for almost 2 weeks and the buds are still in good shape. The stems started sprouting new growth. How can I plant these to grow roots for a new plant? I sent a photo of one stem. Thanks!

Put two thirds in ground and keep watered, they'll root. But, don't expect true to same flowers, there probably from graphed roses.

I doubt the rose stem will root. Cuttings normally grow roots and then leaves. I suspect that, if the rose was still on the plant, those would be your next flowers.

IF it did root, the new rose plant would bloom exactly what it is blooming now as it is a clone of the parent. Rose grafting has to do with plant vigor, not flower color.

Before you try to root it, cut off the flower.

You can start a rose bush from a bouquet rose but, use a freshly cut rose and yes, cut the flower off. Rveron's rose is two weeks old - the only energy source (stored in the stem) has been lost to maintaining the flower and growing new leaves. I doubt there's enough reserve to grow roots as they are normally grown first, leaves follow roots.

I would love to see the results. Rveron, it will take a couple months to root. Keep it warm and tented.
