Byzantine Gladiolus (Gladiolus x byzantinus) has undergone another name change as a hybrid of Gladiolus dubius x Gladiolus italicus. Still most commonly known as Gladiolus communis subsp. byzantinus, per the Catalogue of Life this was a synonym of Gladiola (Gladiolus communis) until this latest revision. It's now a synonym of G. x byzantinus. Since most of our photos appear to be of the Byzantine Glad I edited our G. communis entry to G. x byzantinus and added a new entry for G. communis. If you believe your photo belongs in the G. communis entry please propose it be moved. @JRsbugs, @StephGTx, @robertduval14, @dave, @Chelle, @HamiltonSquare, @piksihk, @bonitin.

Photos of the Byzantine Gladiola can be seen here.

Thank You. I edited my own database and photos. Trying to keep up. This one is very perplexing. I tip my hat to you.
