Houseplants forum: Need an ID on both this plant and why its leaves have brown spots

Hiya guys!

so I have this plant that i got as a clipping from a friend, and she has no idea what the plant is, but its been doing pretty well for the past 8 months ive had it and grown a bunch:

Does anyone know what this plant is? Ive been keeping it in an east-ish facing window and i water it once a week. this winter i noticed it started developing brown spots on the leaves, and not pictured but one of the lower leaves is turning yellow and shriveling up:

do you guys know what this plant is and why it might be doing this?? any help is greatly appreciated

oh yes you guys are totally right, its definitely a Callisia fragans! thank you so much.

and you think it might be root bound? I was waiting until the spring to repot it but if you think its rootbound ill repot it ASAP

I agree, Basket Plant (Callisia fragrans) Brown leaf tips might be from dry air/lack of humidity; yellowing leaf may be just an old leaf experiencing normal shedding. I'd wait until spring to repot.

Whatever you want to do, shouldn't hurt this plant, aside from being frozen or stuck in a really dark corner. It's nearly indestructible.
