If your sickness could wait until first week of May there would be much more to see Rolling on the floor laughing

And to stay on topic, I have Almira Buffalo Bone Jackson, and it's is gorgeous on every bloom plus much taller than its registered height. Not sure about his daylilies in the cold climates, but they grow like gangbusters here. Also have some seedlings from Faulkner plants and love love love them!

So what is the story of Natural Selection Daylilies?
It can't be like us making seedling beds in the pasture and if the seedlings out perform the weeds then they may get moved to a better location for further evaluation. Confused A couple of Psychedlicious (Falkner 2012) seedlings made it out of the pasture. Hope I have some surviving ABBJ seedlings since I with the help of ma nature (more natural selection) and some unnatural events, have managed to kill so many this winter.

Our SC trip is already planned but not in time to get those seedling beds ready or planted. First time and who know if the only time we will go to AHS National Convention and even though the family will all go it is Ashton's choice and his senior trip. That is why I will have to pass on the Faulkner daylilies since the daylily budget is blown without even buying any. Hilarious!
So Ginny, can I write that off the taxes?

I grow only a select few diploids, and because of canoeing and cool, inhospitable weather, gave up on patterns completely, but *wow*.
Thumbs up

Do you have any takers on the seedling payments? I've been weeding today and it crossed my mind. I sure could use some help! Need help...have flowers.

Terry, that will be a trip everyone will remember. Don't kids grow up fast.

Terry if you're in the business of buying and selling daylilies I'd talk to your accountant to see if any of the trip counts as educational nodding nodding
What a treat to go to the show Hurray! Hurray!
The NALS lily convention is in Des Moines this year and I'm trying to convince a couple NGA members to make a side trip to my place for my garden tour that weekend Hilarious!
Terry if you've seen Regina's seedling pics on Facebook I know you won't want to miss it.

So, I seriously need to win a lottery (or 2). So many weeds to pull and flowers to see and friends to visit...
Group hug you guys rock.

I do have discretionary leave, don't know how much though. I'll look into it. And plan to pull weeds and see flowers and visit friends somewhere...

Looking forward to seeing your new Faulkner additions in the coming months. Bob was the guest speaker last month at the Region 11 winter gathering and I spoke to a few people who attended and learned of his hybridizing. We did not get to go.

Regina,
Driving, yes and I have looked up your town on the map so we will have to schedule a visit. By the time we have driven that far and in a vehicle with my youngest I may need to do some weeding or garden work for my sanity. Hilarious!

Teresa,
yes they do and that just means that I am growing old fast. Ashton got us started with hybridizing when he was 9 years old. Last week, we (Ashton and myself) were guest speakers at the Tulsa Daylily Club. Ashton still has to tell that his great grandfather, his grandpa, and his dad have grown hundreds dayliles for at least 60 years but never hybridized. When he was 9 and got interested in plants, the first thing he wanted to know was how are new daylilies created and the first thing he wanted to do was make some new ones himself.
But he also had to try crossing bearded iris, roses, rose of sharon, and other types of lilies. About any plant that he could figuer out how to pollinate he probably tried but daylilies are his top choice. Always great doing new things, meeting new people, making memories with the family.

Ginny,
Only problem is that I am my own accountant. (you are probably saying that I need a better one) nodding We do have farm and garden operations and report it on our taxes.
It is all educational. If you spend time with my kids you learn all the things that they picked up somewhere and constantly ask, "where did they come up with that"?

Bob Faulkner spoke at the Western KY Bot Garden this past Tuesday. I attended the luncheon and was excited to win one of his newer intros. It was BOILING THE FROG. Lovely bloom but I hate the name Angry

I have a picture of us together but it is on my phone. I don't get a very strong signal and it takes forever to upload.

I noticed the blurb on Boiling the Frog said "doesn't Flop". I really don't like floppers, so that is particularly nice if true...........Not crazy about the name either.......Maryl
