This is one of the few plants I have that show an applique pattern. I had no idea what that was when I purchased this plant, at the time I paid $5.00 for a double fan or better. I have had the plant since March 2016, and it has been slow to establish here. Last season it did finally bloom and I took only a few photos. So I am thinking it had few buds and a short blooming period. I do think it is a beautiful bloom and I think this will be the year when it really starts to show its potential.

Stunted scapes here. Slow growth. No patience for this evergreen.

I tried this cultivar twice in my northern garden and both times it did not survive the winter. It was planted both times in my most protected evergreen bed. I think the freeze/thaw we experience in the winter is too much for this one.

It reblooms here but it really does not like it in my northern Virginia (just outside of DC) garden.

Hasn't increased since I got it 4 years ago, it has bloomed every year & the blooms are lovely, but few and far between, no rebloom.

I have been growing Spacecoast Seashells in my South Western Ontario Canada garden for the last 3 years . I love the bloom but I can't say this one is a prolific bloomer or even a prolific grower. We had loads of rain late last winter and the water stayed on the surface for weeks and we went through many cycles of freeze/thaw. It took a toll on the plant's increase but truth be told , I was surprised it even survived. We get little to no snow cover most winters so the fact that this plant survived all it was subjected to last year speaks to some kind of hardiness.

A relatively new CV in my collection. It's a pretty face but too early to judge many of its characteristics. Almost lost it this winter, but it's starting to comeback. May relocate it to another area in the landscape.

I have had this one for about 3 yrs now. Does not like it here in zone 5. Bought as a double fan and so far increased to a triple. Very short bloom time but a beautiful applique flower and that is the only reason it is still in my garden. It has been a surprise every spring that it survived.
