I have been wanting a metal decetor for some time. Put it on my Christmas & birthday's list when I was still making one out for those who thought I had every thing with a suggestion they shop pawn shops.

Well never happened so Went shopping my self but the banker didn't like the idea of buying used. So stopped and bought a Amazon gift card on the way home(not going to use a credit card on the net.) and ordered a Fisher F 22 a week ago Tuesday. It was delivered quick recieved Saturday.

Been having a good time learning it. Yesterday I even found things buried in the dirt.

Al, what did you find?
Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed.

Been out 3 times about a hour and a half each searching the woods for the chain grab hook, also remembered I had lost a pin for a clevis back there.

So far I have found a valve for a engine. How it got there is a wonder.

A 20ga shot shell hull some things newer thant the 1960, about 1970 they switched from paper hulls to plastic and color coded them. Also found a few shot shell bases from the older waxed paper hulls.
Also ran into several places I was getting good signals but found nothing. Marked those places and will return when it is dryer with a sive, as I think it may be bird shot from thiose shot shells.

Also found several 22LR rim fire cases. brass ya know.

2 pieces of wire kind of heavy and a man made twist knot in one piece the other was straight.

A bolt flat headed with a nut and washer, the nut looks almost like a thumb wheel. Still need to clean it up more to get a better Idea what it might really be.

Up near my pole barn I found a alum top to what I believe chain link fence post.

So far that is it. I want to get out more but the weather just is not what I want to be out digging in dirt and running the damp cold stuff thru my fingers to find things.
