Hello everyone!

I'm very happy to have found this community of fellow garden enthusiasts. Hopefully I too can bring some extra experiences to the community - eventhough I most likely have much less experiences with plants than most of you here.

Today, I added to my family of plants a new member. It's Monstera Deliciosa. We had one in the house long time ago and I remember always finding the leaves really awesome. The aerial roots were 2-3 meters long.

Welcome! Dcrex
There is a wide range of newbie to experienced around the site. And a lot of us feel we are still learning. I have never had a Monstera, so I'm a newbie at those!

Hi Dcrex, Welcome! from me too.

If you have interest in plants of any type, you will love this site! Your juvenile Split-leaf Philodendron (Monstera deliciosa) is very pretty. They grow in the ground as landscape plants here in parts of Florida where I live and will eventually begin to crawl along the ground or climb way up into the trees. I had one as a container plant about ten years ago but it got so big that I planted it in a shady spot in the garden.

Thank you for such a hospitality :)

I did some browsing around the site. It really has so much information on all sorts of plants! This forum and the site in general, was a great find!

:)

edit: I ordered a Will Creed's book ~ Don't repot that plant! There are some really good reviews of it.

Welcome! @DCrex! We're so glad you found us. It's wonderful to have members from all over the world! You have lovely plants. I also have Will's book, @WillC, and it's definitely a good one whether you are new to plants, or an old hand with them.

David, I've been gardening and tending indoor plants for 51 years and I purchased @WillC 's book too; I found it very easy to read and informative for both novice as well as more experienced growers! Will has been involved in indoor plant care for a long time and is very knowledgeable about proper potting and care, to keep indoor plants happy and healthy!

Thank You! Lin, Karen, and David! I much appreciate your support for my book. I wrote it for folks like you who have a wide interest in plants. It is not a book for folks who have a limited interest in plants. I think this NGA site is a great place for those who have just a couple of plants or an occasional specific question.

I tip my hat to you.
