I am almost positive this is going to be a native plant here. Blooming now. Sprawling type shrub right now. Very sweetly scented blooms.

I am a strong believer in the simple fact is that what matters in this life is how we treat others. I think that's what living is all about. Not what I've done in my life but how I've treated others.

Possibly Prunus serotina? I have this in my backyard; my dog eats the fruit.
If it is shrubby, can you look to see if it had been cut back?

Shape of flower wrong for Itea virginica

Flowers correct for Prunus sp...
Prunus are hard to id from pics.

Would it help to have clear photos of the back of the leaves including the petioles? Here is a link to show the location of the tiny glands on the P. serotina:

D'Oh! D'Oh! D'Oh! D'Oh! *Blush* *Blush*
No doubt about it; P. serotina. A case of not being able to see the forest for the trees. I admit, for one brief second, I considered P. serotina but I have them on the NW area of the property where they are completely exposed & they are only beginning to leaf out whereas the ones pictured in this thread are in quite a thicket/windbreak type of are on the east property line so they are much more protected and so well leafed out at this point & blooming their hearts out.

Thank you so much Greene & Silversurfer! Thank You!
