Hello!

I have been growing some sensitive plants from seeds. They have been doing quite well until yesterday when I noticed some spots on the leaves. Now the leaves are wilting and curling up. I tried to see if maybe I had spider mites but I can't see any evidence of them other than these spots. I would really appreciate any help or advice! Thank you so much!

Sensitive Plants are sensitive in more ways than one. Maintaining just the right level of soil mositure is critical to the survival of seedlings. You have yours in a very large pot so determining when to water is more difficult. I suggest you water very lightly as soon as the surface of the soil feels almost, but not quite dry. Don't use hard tap water. Provide lots of very bright, but indirect sunlight. Increased humidity can help.

This is a novelty plant that does not have a very long life as a potted indoor plant and the leaflets become less sensitive over time.

The photos don't show the leaf spot very well.

Thank you so much for the speedy reply!

I didn't consider that it may be too wet for them. I had them in a makeshift greenhouse since our house can get cold. I am thinking that maybe the soil is too wet for them. They have been so much fun to grow and I have love watching each new seedling. Would you like me to post a different picture of the spots? I can try to get a better picture.

These are the best I could get before my breath caused them to close up.

Thanks. Looks like a watering problem, but not a serious one, at least not yet. Make some minor adjustments in your watering but nothing drastic.
