Ask a Question forum: Golden Pothos dead root?

I recently started growing a golden pothos clipping in small vase of water and forgot to keep the water level up. Well within that time two roots grew in one at the very bottom and one higher up on the stem. The one higher up was mostly exposed to air and is brown but the tip of the root is green. Is this root dead? If so what should I do about it? I'm hoping it isn't dead and will go back to being green like the tip due to being in water. Thanks.

I suggest that you just put it back in the water and remember to keep the water level high enough so that both roots are covered at all times. The root you are concerned about may or may not make it. Time will tell. No reason to do anything else.
