I can't help it. I have to say this somewhere so this forum is probably the best place to do it, unless I already have said it and dementia has set in.

Got a call from my neighborhood Wild Birds Unltd on Sunday. I won the raffle for a super duper pair of binoculars! I'm so excited that I can't stand it! Now I can see the birds in my backyard. And I did warn my neighbors to keep their blinds closed. 😈

I used to laugh that the only raffle I ever won was for 500 S&H Green Stamps from the Piggley Wiggly grocery store. Plus I suspected that my mother forged my name as it wouldn't be my kinda raffle. And yet, since I joined NGA, I won 3 (yes three) Not a Raffle Raffles in a row*. Plus, each time I actually scored the prize that I wanted — gift certificates from Victory Seeds. (that's why I'm always pushing seeds on people.) But this, an expensive pair of binoculars, is just the icing on the cake. Woo hoo! Guess NGA has changed my luck.

The binoculars have a lifetime guarantee. I could drop them on the sidewalk and take them back to the store for repair or replacement. When I have a few minutes this week I'm going to go to the store and tell them that I dropped the binoculars. 😈😈😈 Ha ha. (Not even going to wait until April 1st.)

*In case anyone is curious, I never bought more than 10 or 11 tickets each time I won. After all, it only takes 1 ticket to win. Lately I've been adding a lot of events b/c I get 5 acorns each. And they're good events except not many peeps live around here. (uh oh. don't tell dave.) So now I'm having a lot of fun tossing acorns at people.

My mother might have said that but it would only have been prompting the teenage me to behave. (Didn't work.) However, after she got dementia, she kept telling me what a good daughter I'd always been. So who was I too argue?

Woo Hoo! I'm hangin' around you and rubbing your head! Maybe some of your good luck will rub off.

Seriously, I know you will enjoy the binoculars. Congratulations are in order! Hurray!

Very cool! They will certainly come in handy. I never win anything either...good friend of mine (who was blessed with wealthy parents) won a car once in a raffle at Sears. Closest I ever got :)

Since his parents were wealthy, I think your friend should've given the car to you. Let him use daddy's money to buy his own!

Yeah - it was a convertible! And we were 21...I probably would have just gotten into trouble. :)

Why would Sears be raffling off a car, let alone a ragtop? Not their usual merchandise except maybe tires. Oh, heck. Who knows why anyone does anything in particular.

Who knows? I got to ride in it a lot, so if you can't win I guess 2nd best is your buddy. Probably a blessing...I couldn't have paid the taxes or insurance. So broke I couldn't pay attention as dad used to say...
