I am learning more about plants and trees. This grows into a sizeable tree. The greener image is after the first rains.

Does the tree have thorns? I'm wondering if it might be a variety of Acacia? I don't know what species grow in your area but here's one for comparison: Guajillo (Senegalia berlandieri)
