Is that data base section supposed to contain plants which have pepper or peppermint in the name ?
I think that some of those belong elsewhere ?

Yes, it searches for anything contains that word, just like a Google search. If you want to limit it to just peppers, use the Latin name Capsicum or you can click on any of those pepper entries and at the top click on the blue highlighted Peppers Database. Scroll down a bit to click on the 'browse entire pepper database.'
