I have about 10 inches of leaves covering my garden and i don't know if i should move them to my compost bin or mix them with a shovel into the soil. I'll be planting soon and they won't have much time to decompose. Any ideas?

Dear yosal,
I turned my leaves, followed by deep till 2 weeks later, one Spring, and what a mess. Every inch of planting space would roll up leaves and start to blow all over, and the seed or plant would not even be touching the earth but lay on a pile of leaves. The leaves were very slow to decompose. I ended up moving to a new garden space, and not much produced in the leaf garden. I would remove them to the compost pile and use it as seasonal mulch where needed, even a weed barrier between the rows would be better than what I tried. Hope this helps.
