@Australis, I noticed that you associated my seedling with Ceropegia.

I'm always confused about this genus and the many names/synonyms. From what I read Ceropegia is a 4-sided succulent. All the other pictures including here confirm this.

But my plant (when grown) has many sides (30 or so).

I've seen it listed as Trichocaulon annulatum and Hoodia pilifera subsp. annulata.

Just throwing this out there because none of the adult plants listed for the Ceropegia entry look like the plants this seedling will turn into.

The Ceropegia genus recently absorbed dozens of other genera, including Trichocaulon and Hoodia, so I'm sure the description of Ceropegia has changed.

Yes, thank you Zuzu, Ceropegia now includes a lot of other genera. Which I actually learned from going back to some of my old images and finding they weren't where I filed them. Smiling

I have another question. Can you direct me to the policies of how images are ascribed and added? Whose permission is necessary?

These images are mine, but if permission is not necessary for me to consent to having them added (as I did not add them), that could put the website in legal jeopardy.

I personally am ambivalent but it interests me now.

I'll let the higher ups address questions related to policy or legal jeopardy, but in the interest of serving your personal needs, there's a setting you can use to control that (whether or not your pics can be added to the database). In case you didn't know. Go to your site preferences

Your Profile -> Site Preferences

and toward the bottom there's a way you can disable people from associating your pictures with plants in the database.

See "Allow your forum photos..." here:

Thumb of 2018-03-12/Baja_Costero/ea0b21

As you can tell by the example, I have already selected "No" because I kinda want to be the one who decides which of my pictures end up in the database. Usually I just want the best picture and I like being able to choose.

I hope this helps. I'm not sure I actually understood the question but it's above my pay grade so I'll leave that to others. Smiling

Thank you. It's just really interesting to me. I don't particularly care either way, personally. It seems like it would be more open to abuse if somebody had doctored images and a third party named them.
Keep going!

Here is an updated image of the same plant. I will have to edit it in because I'm on my phone.

I also copied the correct name (Ceropegia pilifera subsp. annulata) directly from the database listing. Is it possible for the original to be moved there?
Keep going!

I know. I have studied it up close because it is so cool when it is this small.
