Lands end has 100% Cotton tank tops. Not ribbed but a nice weight to them I think.

Thanks Teacup. I think I checked them, too. I've always found Land's End to be reliable, I'm just on a quest for ribbed cotton at the moment. Sad
For me, gardening is really just an excuse for playing in the dirt. Admittedly, plants are a satisfying by-product.

nmoasis said: For a different body part, can anyone recommend a source for a plain old ribbed 100% cotton tank top? You'd think that would be easy, but no, either the fabric is cheaply thin or they contain Spandex. I checked Duluth on above recommendations and they don't seem to have them. Seems in times past I could find them almost anywhere. Out of style?

I've been looking for ribbed tanks myself, and they ARE hard to find these days! I like that they "hold everything in" bc the neckline sits higher than the jersey knit tanks of these days. I'm always self conscious bc I live in the city, but luckily our front yard is on the highest hill within a three block stretch! Whistling Unfortunately, though, the back yard is level with everybody else's, which is where the majority of my gardens are located Sighing! Really, I'm not too keen on taking a chance on being arrested for indecent exposure!! I'm a "winter", so I can't pull off jail orange Hilarious! Hilarious! It's all about looking good everywhere, right? Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Whistling

If anyone knows where to find the ribbed tanks, please do share! Smiling Smiling

Dana, exactly! Something to hold it all together. When home gardening all I wear on top is the tank top, so the ribbed variety serves a dual purpose. I hope my current ragged ones can hold up long enough for them to come back into style. I'm sure they're available somewhere, I'm just not keen about shopping for clothes online. I want to feel the fabric and try them on. (Inner voice says, get over it!) Sighing!

Have you tried amazon and the Gap?

Although it may seem more difficult, I would encourage you to not utilize Amazon - once you find your source order direct. Kind of like shopping small. I really don't know if there is any difference but it makes me feel better.

I did get a couple from the Gap which I'm using because returning is a pain and they're better than nothing. The fabric is quite thin, but at least it's 100% cotton.

I'm getting weirded out about Amazon, too, even though I'm a Prime subscriber. Philosophical and anti-trust issues aside, slogging through thousands of selections from questionable vendors is frustrating. I always swore I wouldn't turn into a grumpy dinosaur, but jeez, how hard should this be?!? Blinking Hilarious!

try Dharma trading... they sell all manner of clothing "blanks" for dyeing, mostly white, some black. I know I've seen rib-knit there, not sure if it's spandex free, but most of their clothing is 100% cotton (unless it's silk or rayon).

OMG flip flops with arch support!! They are even more comfortable than my beloved crocs (arch support being the one thing lacking for me in crocs). AND they are purple.

How well are the soles wearing on yours, Dana? Wondering if I should buy a backup pair...

Thanks Karen, I checked that one awhile back... out of stock Sad . At this point, I'll just make do with what I have. Don't know how it is down your way, but this weather is so crazy that I'm cycling through the seasons daily now: starting early morning with several layers and fleece-lined clogs, then peeling down to shorts, tank top and flip-flops mid-day. Makes for a lot of laundry! Hilarious!

Hilarious! Hilarious! Hilarious! Zoë!

Jill, I'm glad you like your Funky Monkey's! Hurray! Mine are holding up well, although I wear work boots instead of flip flops for heavy work bc the better traction lessens the worry of falling and winding up with a concussion (don't ask me how I know that D'Oh! Rolling my eyes. ) I haven't had them but for the last half of this Summer, so I can't give you a very good idea of how the soles hold up, but I do think the Funky Monkey's will be a pair of workhorse flip flops, like my old ones, I'm hoping, with long lasting traction. 🤞🤞 My old ones had no traction left, after 9 years, but that didn't stop me from wearing them until they broke. Whistling Whistling Hilarious! Surprisingly, our 24 yr. old daughter took the pair that was too big for me, so I didn't have to send them back. Hurray!
