Hey people, I've noticed my plant with a crack in it's stem, right close to the soil part. It is an Argyreia nervosa, it has something around 5 months old. It is growing normally so far but those cracks got me worried. Should I be worried or is it just normal? Is there anything I should do? I uploaded some pics so you can get a better perspective. Thank you already. Have a nice day!

Welcome!

I have never grown one of these plants and don't know what care they require. But... I think you should be worried. There also looks to be a disconnect at the soil line. It could be root rot. I'm really not sure, though.

Bad union at base, only one should of been left. Crack at base, open invitation to bugs or disease.
Other possible causes, fluctuations in watering. Big temperature swings.
Possibly ? Like my Western Redbud tree. The nature of the beast. I've never seen a healthy Western Redbud in town.

I was wondering if it was root rot indeed, last couple of months have been quite rainy, it doesnt look like there is any creature or bugs or mold at the cracks, im more worried about it cracking wide open and split the stem in half. Anyways, thank you for your help, Daisyl and Philip.
