ooooo! What is the name of this one?? I love it.

Click to see what I believe is Semp 'Green Wheel'

Looks like Semp 'Green Wheel', they do sell it, and it does indeed strongly show the mesmerizing Fibonacci spiraling pattern going, particularly well expressed. I am of the opinion this is one of the very best all green semps.

@schrecka Annie, any chance you can see which one this one is?

Hmm there are definitely a number of possibilities, but I get a real Spring Beauty vibe from it: https://mountaincrestgardens.c....

Or it could be piliferum, villosum, or something else entirely. Hard to tell when she's not blushing.

I agree with the above statements. A great group to visit with, talk with about plants, and just plain enjoy their enthusiasm.

Just reading through this thread and admiring the photos. I LOVE seeing completed rock gardens; so many good ideas to pluck! Can someone tell me what this sedum is? Also curious if anyone knows what the bright yellow sedum is spread throughout. The contrasting colors, sizes, and textures is perfect!

I'm so glad you all loved the post about the history of MCG! It was a really fun to go through old photo albums to piece it together.

Jesse, thanks for your question about our rock garden. The green one is Sedum spurium ('John Creech' if I had to guess: https://mountaincrestgardens.c...). The yellow is Sedum japonicum 'Tokyo Sun', though unfortunately it's only hardy to zone 8. Sedum reflexum 'Angelina' makes a great hardy replacement though: https://mountaincrestgardens.c....

Hope this helps!

I'm finding that the 'Tokyo Sun' isn't hardy in my zone 8/PNW. Not sure if it is the really wet winter with hard freezes?
But I sure do love it for the texture and color. I think I might try bringing starts of it onto the covered deck and see if it will survive if it stays on the dry side.
