So my university has this Amaryllis labeled as Hippeastrum puniceum and I don't think it's correct. I've looked up photos of that species and it looks like a Lilly! Whereas this doesn't. It's kind of embarrassing because I have found multiple plants in our greenhouse labeled incorrectly. Funny how I catch them but the botany professors don't Thank you!
Wow, I am actually left speechless on this labeling Red Lion is a cultivar of Hippeastrum written Hippeastrum Red Lion. Hippeastrum puniceum is the Barbados Lily. Someone had to mix up the labels when they were not in bloom. So what else is mislabeled in the greenhouse.
There is a TON messed up. It's really frustrating. Multiple Kalanchoes and Agaves labeled incorrectly. And multiple not labeled at all, so I gave them the info and they STILL have not fixed it. Pretty sad honestly...

@ljones26 Put the correction in WRITING, and then MAIL it to the head of the department - that will catch their attention. If you have other corrections, add those also. If you can, print out a labeled photo of the correct plant from our data base and include that - they will be impressed with you.
