Just saw weather report and they have taken out chances of snow for us, we might get a bit, but most will stay north of us. Now if it would just warm up Saturday night. Might get down to 24 degrees. But spring is in sight. After Tuesday, looks like we might have 3 days of warm dry weather in a roe! May hit 70 by Friday. I am trying not to get too excited. The weather can change, but makes me feel better now😊

I'm glad you won't get hit with snow. We are going down to 28°. I just wish it would stay above freezing!

Not me! I hope to get the same quality roots! Just need patience to wait for a few years for the first bloom Smiling

Here are the roots I got today. I am very happy with what I received, especially for $24.

Already in the ground. The 3 for $30 that I got from Lowe's a couple weeks ago are about 4 to 5 inches up and look great. Still don't expect blooms for 2 years.

Gary, yours look even better than mine! I like the smaller roots that yours have coming out from the main root!
Glad to hear your Lowes roots are doing well. My Lowes never got them in.

Annette, go online and check.

Also good looking roots, Gary! Did you trim those white shoots off? Somebody told me that if they fell off during shipping it was even better Crossing Fingers! I personally don't want to cut them.

Anya, I have never heard of cutting those shoots off! I planted mine with them above the soil line. They will be what feeds the plant.

I have heard of disbudding first year Peonies, but I don't do it.

LG, I agree, the white shoots are the new stems of the peonies, and should be planted just as you stated.

The only thing that I would trim are broken or non viable parts of the plant.

I don't trim the shoots. Those are the plant beginning to grow. On my Lowe's itohs, they have grown into a nice size plant. I planted with the shoots just above the soil line.

It'll be interesting to see how they perform, we'll be giving them a thorough sampling in all of our zones and garden conditions!

Thanks,- everyone, for your inputs. I also always thought that these long white shoots were future stems which good to leave. A seller from peonynursery.com from Lithuania wrote to me that if these shoots broke during shipping (I complained about this) then it was an advantage Shrug!
