Thread OP

HI all, I'm very new to the plant world.

My wife bought me a bonsai last year which started an obsession that i had never expected. Anyway, long story short my wife bought me an Epiphyllum for our anniversary this year and all was going along fantastically, it had a great shoot growing from the top and when I left work Friday was looking fine. I came in this morning (2 days later) to find it covered in large brown spots and I have no idea what has gone wrong!

I've attached some photos, but basic routine is I water once a week and give it a few days at a time in the sunny window in my office (its a desk plant).

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, but have more questions than answers. When did you get the plant, is it still in the original pot is was purchased in If not did it have roots when you repotted it.. Can you post a pic of the shoot coming out of the top.

Without knowing answers to the above questions my guess would have been this was a new cutting just poked into a pot and it did not have a chance to develop roots and its a failure to thrive.

If it has a good root structure and we get to see a healthy shoot on top then it might be a bacterial infection. You can get sprays for that at garden shops.

Hi Brendon,

I should have asked one more question -Where are you located. Reading the label it says blooms will appear in November and imported from USA. Are you in Australia?
