There's alot of purple around this time of year. Let's see what you have.

Here's some of mine:

'Virgil Ford' and 'Proud Zelda'

Is 'Purple Dazzler' a weakling? I've had trouble with it for a few years but it may yet pull through. I have two offsets in the ICU in case the one outdoors croaks.

'Purple Dazzler' and 'Patent Leather Shoes'

'Picasso' offsets prolifically, let me know if I should bring any to the clinic.

Yeah, they all look great, love the "low and wide" look of Picasso (it's in my want list, aren't most of em Blinking ).

Speaking of purple, this popped up on SMG Facebook page tonight, a lovely purple Semp 'Helen Melissa', does anyone grow this? It's a 1997 Gary Gossett selection named without the Pacific part. While posted on SMG's FB page, it's not listed in the SMG web site yet. The Sempervivum database has no pictures for it, but there it is on SMG Facebook.

Melissa, lots of purple power there, nice seeing them all lined up like this for comparison of not only color, but leaf arrangement and build. I can't select a favorite looking at them, they all look great. Adding to my want list again Smiling

Thanks Mark. Everytime somebody posts pictures of their semps, I almost always end up adding to my wish list.

Wow, those are all great purples.

Melissa, you may have downloaded the wrong photo for 'Icicle'.

Tim, I have had problems with 'Purple Dazzler' off and on. It is turning out to be somewhat finicky.

All right, more puple pics... sweet. Although, it seems like just about everything is purple this time of year.

I'm gonna keep on trying with 'Purple Dazzler'. It is certainly hardier than 'Lemon Sky' which isn't saying much. Maybe I'll start a planter with it that I can keep out of the rain.

A few more purps. 'Miss Manica' and 'Urmina'.

Lynn,

Yes Purple Dazzler is a rotter for me. I generally lose a big chunk of the clump each winter. It is a pretty semp though. This year I crossed it with Nightwood, which seems to be impervious to anything mother nature throws at it. Fingers crossed on these crosses!

I have 411 in my semps want list, I must be a semp glutton! Of course, once my many April semp order deliveries occur, that number should be reduced. Rolling my eyes.

There's a few kinds of "Purple's". I think some look more red-purple and some look more blue-purple in color (which I prefer but hard to find).

These are more of the Plum (red purple) in color
