Hello. Another vine has popped up in the jungle behind my property. There are 2 grape vines, southern fox and mustang, blackberry vines, honey suckles, climbing jasmine, and many more. However, this vine is new and I have never seen anything like it. It has a naughty 😂 shape. The vine has thorns and tendrils. Can you please identify it for me. Thanks!

I think it is the saw greenbrier. Thanks! Now to figure out how to get rid of it!

I can't seem to find any decent pictures of the root system on google images.

I've been digging these at my house... and the root systems I'm finding are as long as the vine and also contains thorns!
so... grabbing a handful of root and giving it a good yank... usually means that I end up with gouges in my fingers...

Starting out, maybe go after it with a shovel and mattock combination, maybe you'll get lucky and find the 'tater' right away... and not have to chase down several yards of root to get to the tuber.

Reckon I need to take some pics.

Ok... pulled a few roots out of the burn pile and piled on a tarp for you.
