Dwarf Nandina (Nandina domestica 'Fire Power') same? Nothing that's been done can ever be changed. |
They look the same, but I'm not sure. @eclayne created the entry for Firepower five years after the entry for Fire Power was created by admin, so he may have known about a difference between the two. He should take a look at this. |

Mobot has it listed as two words: http://www.missouribotanicalga... RHS has it listed as two words: https://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/... Monrovia and a few other places have it listed as one word: http://www.monrovia.com/plant-... Another site that popped up (name I won't mention) lists it as: Nandina domestica 'Monfar' PP14693, CBPR Pending; a/k/a Firepower, a/k/a Sienna Sunrise Hybridized by Farrow, registered or introduced in 2002 ~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt! ~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot! |

Apparently Sienna Sunrise is a registered trademark and 'Monfar' is the cultivar name of that one. Patent 14693 It has nothing to do with 'Firepower' or 'Fire Power'. https://www.gardencentermarket... MOBOT lists N. domestica 'Monfar' Sienna Sunrise: http://www.missouribotanicalga... and the patent number 14693 so it doesn't appear to be the same as Firepower. ~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt! ~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot! |
Can you find a patent, a hybridizer, or an introduction date for Fire Power? That could prove they're the same plant or two different plants. Oh, and look at this: Heavenly Bamboo (Nandina domestica Sienna SunriseĀ®) We might have three entries for the same plant. |
We cross-posted, Lin, so please ignore my musings about Sienna Sunrise. |

Well, it does look like 'Sienna Sunrise' and 'Monfar' are the same ... curious about 'Fire Power' or 'Firepower'. Still haven't found anything else yet. ~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt! ~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot! |
