I have an amaryllis bulb which bloomed profusely this winter. Now the leaves are up from the main bulb but also I see two side shoots coming up in the soil alongside the bulb. Should I let these grow or should I remove them? thanks!

Looks like you have 3 bulbs! Offsets can be dug up and divided once the foliage dies down in fall. . Just break them off and replant if you want, I usually just let them stay in the container with the original bulb.

I do intend to keep the bulb growing all summer. I was thinking that the smaller bulbs would take energy away from the bigger bulb? But maybe not. As another posted mentioned, I believe I will remove them from the main pot and report separately. Thanks for the input.

Re removal, make sure they are 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the original bulb, which will ensure success with the new bulbs
