Does anyone know of a good site to purchase/obtain 6" (or other size) plastic pots for Daylily Seedlings?

Check and see if there is a nursery / greenhouse supply business in your area. Other than that, maybe you could get some used one's from a local nursery.

Try Greenhouse Mega Store.
http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/

or you may want to try Ebay. Just do a seach for 6 inch nursery pot and check
out the sellers feedback and compare shipping costs.

Good luck.

Do check with a local nursery or if you have seed and feed places in your area, they usually sell the pots for growers. Depending on how many you need, sometimes the shipping is expensive buying online.

I have a local landscape company that gives me all my pots. You might check with some of your local companies to see if any of them would be willing to save the pots for you. I know this has saved me a load of money in the past years and this year too.

One more suggestion .... do you belong to a gardening club? Members may have pots to share.

I asked once, and now people contact me when they want to get rid of pots.

Im kinda wondering what your doing with a 6" pot. Would a large size plastic cup do the same thing. A seedling can stay in both about the same amount of time before needing replanting. It would be the cheapest.
As for bigger pots, I too look for landscapers, check freecycle etc. The one gallons are the easiest to get, but its the 3 gallon and up Im after. They are harder to come by.

I'm with dormantsrule. I now get my pots from plasticflowerpots.net because they offer several different quantities of each size and I can decide how many I need -- like maybe 50 rather than 100, etc.

I sell a lot of potted hostas, and once people find out that I reuse pots, they bring me lots of pots.

I have never bought pots. Sometimes, I find big plastic bags full of pots, but most of the time, people leave stacks of pots at my door.

I don't need any pots but I sure could use some info on a good place to buy the little 1"x1" seed bags. Any suggestions would be much appreciated !!

If memory serves uline sells them starting around $28 for 1,000 of them.

A brief bit of googling yielded this:

http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=24952

NB: I have not ordered from either of those sources (though I recall someone on ATP mentioning US Plastics).

Thanks for all the great info. I am storing my daylily seeds in snack size ziplock bags. Thats o.k. I guess but not very neat looking if you intend on selling seeds. I will call these places, one of them is out of the office until the end of the month. I like the 1.5x 2 because it's a write on bag, that's super!! Thanks again for the great info.

I think the others are write-on bags too.
