I had a lady give me some of her iris and her mother's iris. Some came with names but tags were separated. Usually I search the data base, but I do not even have a clue as to its flower form or pattern. It is not stitched so I do not think it is a Plicata. Any help with form or pattern would be great.

In case it looks familiar, I have these clues about the iris she gave me.
The iris I received were from the 80's and 90's Or some older Burseens.
This one bloomed at almost 27 inches and it is not a large bloom.
The buds looked gold , but once opened look coppery. The beard is either orange gold or gold.

Any help would be appreciated.

May you and your garden be blessed!

Thank You! Barbara! That is it. I was not checking for Plicata. I am not good with form or pattern, but a Plicata it is! I know it is hard to sometimes identify an iris. This one was so different, it gave me hope. I see you have it. Thank you for being so nice and helpful!

You are appreciated, may extra special blessings come your way!

I have it but it but it hasn't bloomed yet Thumbs down if it does this year I could send you one so you can make sure by growing them right by each other and check the bloom time, height, color and form.

Barbara-- Thank you for the kind offer, if it was any other iris I would take you up on the offer. The hybridizer is Maryott which fits, along with it being an "animal" name. That all helped jog my memory. My iris really blasted this year with 4 days at 90 degrees, then 4 days at 30 degrees, repeat all winter. Short stalks was the norm. Clarence won the prize for short Hilarious!

I should have mentioned with the height, that my measurements would be short.

I have Burseen's Pshaw. 98% sure, so I am ordering one to compare. I am 100% sure on Tiger Shark.

May your garden bring you much joy!

Thank You! for the nice welcome!

I really enjoy the pictures and reading postings.
I do have a few questions that I will save for a rainy day or
Wintertime when gardening is slow.

May a miracle or two be yours this weekend.
