So, birds have been attacking my garden. Mostly sparrows and doves i think. I have been planting my plants and they chew them all up. They have chewed up my corn plants, not after the seed in soil, but rip up the leaves. Did the same with my nightshades and leafy greens. Any suggestions. I am one more lost plant away from shooting them all.

Are they taking some of what they rip up and flying away with it? It is Spring and they may be needed nesting materials. If you provide them with some nesting materials (like coco fiber), they may leave your garden plants alone. An internet search "providing nesting materials for birds" will will yield dozens of ideas, they seem to like dog hair for one example, if you have pets.

I have the same problem. I tried covering things with bird netting, and they just pushed it down and ate through it. Some places they ripped it to shreds. We are fencing to keep out the deer and rabbits, but it's much harder to keep out the birds and squirrels.

Where are the small boys armed with slingshots when we need them?
