Red Dragon isn't a cultivar name, but just a name given to Salvia fulgens in New Zealand.

On the Marshwood Gardens website they say, "It is interesting to note that this species is only called Red Dragon in NZ ".
Sue Templeton's (Salvia Specialist website) of Australia says "This salvia was given this name in New Zealand where they had lost track of the original name but we think it is fulgens. A kind nurseryman with quarantine brought it into Australia for me".

I discussed all this with Zuzu (Plants Admin) and she deleted the Red Dragon name (as a cultivar) from the database and added the RD name as a common name and as an also sold as name to Salvia fulgens, which was the plant of the day on August 14, 2016. There are photos in each of the two links above, as well as, in the database Salvia fulgens link below. Beautiful flowers!
