My mother's friend found this gelatinous thing in her Southern California garden the other day. The purple sac broke open when she tried to pick it up and revealed this strange, round ball. It's about the size of a ping pong ball. We are very curious about it, whether it's dangerous and if we should be concerned about any more of them popping up around the place.
