The leaves on my zucchini plant are starting to turn brown/black and crispy. What could be causing this. The plants just had its first blooms a few days ago. It is planted in a big container with container soil and mulch on top of it.

Sun, or cold burn.

At any rate. It's going to need bigger pot.

Thanks, we have been having warm days and cold nights down to the 40s. As far as the pot. It's actually a really big bucket that we get cow feed in. It's pretty deep so I though that would have been big enough for a zucchini plants to grown in. I don't think I can get ahold of anything bigger than that without having to put it in the ground. Hilarious!

Did you put some drainage holes in that bucket? If not the plant might be suffering from root rot.

Just my work.

Being in pots, makes them more subject to cold. Have you considered bringing them inside at nite ?

Have a Wonderful, Wonderful ! 👍

Yes it has drainage holes and I fertilize it as well. The bucket is actually too big for me to bring inside at night or I would lol. Maybe I could make some sort of cover for it. I think it's supposed to get cold again this weekend. 🙁

Howdy Britty 😎
I just saw you forecast. 39, 40 low for next few days.
Looks like you have basket around it. Good 👍😀.
You have an old sheet, or blanket you could cover it with. A garbage bag would work.
Got an empty gallon jug ?

Hears what to do. You can also Improvise.

When it get to be dusk.
Fill gallon jug up with hot water from water heater.
Put jug next to, preferably plant, or next to pot.
Cover plant, pot, and jug with bag, sheet or blanket.

Looks like by Monday you'll be in the clear ! At least for the next ten days, if weatherman is right. Shrug!
