Thank you!! Thank You!

It does excite me and makes me happy. It is free therapy 😀 even with the cost of the plants lol.

I have turned my kids on to it to. Mom did you get anything new today??

My 12 year old wants a blood orange tree but we don't have many full sun places. My daughter needs her own bed. That's on my list. She has picked out plants and helped me with my daffodil bed. We planted and prepped the bed as we went. 58 mixed while my husband was hanging up Christmas tree lights. Some narcissuses too still left. That was fun!! Now that bed is mostly all green stems. I was going to plant over it with seeds but then read that the subsequent watering can ruin the bulbs underneath so I won't be doing that. I might try to braid them though lol!

Narcissus are a mixed blessing. I totally love the fragrant ones. And it's never spring without the bright yellow King Alfred style daffodils. Problem is that the foliage dies. One great use of petunias, it seems to me, is to bury the browning foliage of narcissus going dormant for another long summer/winter nap.

This is the last of the jonquils Sweet Smile blooming in light shade.

Thank you jai_ganesha!! As you can see, I tend to talk a lot!! Rolling on the floor laughing

It is therapeutic as well. Iam a stay at home mom and don't really have anyone to talk gardening with. So I love ❤️ this place!!

Your petunias are beautiful!
Mine are barely sprouted, but I have them under lights so they will be almost ready to put out when frosts are over here.

It is nice to hear that your daughter is taking an interest in growing plants. Children need to be encouraged to grow gardens.

Do keep posting about your gardening experiences !

Mindi, you are like a breath of fresh air! Your enthusiasm is contagious and will liven up this site. Just keep on posting.

I think it is wonderful that your kids have taken to gardening! I didn't really garden until mine were almost out of the house, so they did not get the gardening bug. Wish that we had kept the garden going that was here 40 years ago when we bought the place. Maybe they would have enjoyed it as a hobby like I do now.

Blue23rose,

Thank you!! My son looks at them like they are individuals that can feel and are sentient lol. If anything dies he gets bummed out. Not into planting per se but into flowers.

My daughter is into picking out plants and wants to get her hands dirty lol.

Iam glad that you guys enjoy my posts. That makes me very happy!!!

😀😀😀

My wife saw some Petunias at a garden center, now she's hooked on them. It may be the beginning of an addiction.

OMG. I don't know how this happened. I was shopping for groceries when two six packs of petunias flew into my cart when I wasn't looking!!! And these ones have the capacity to speak. By the time I noticed them I was halfway finished with shopping. One was pitch black, and the other was blue with turquoise in the middle. They begged me to please take them home and make a bed for them. They promised to be good and overwinter. What could I say??? No???

Well they were thirsty when I brought them home, or I would take a photo. But now they are floppy. They promised to perk up when they were dry.

So now I must make another row in the big garden lol. Those darn stealthy petunias!!! Gotta love 'em!!

😀😀😀

Am I crazy??? Well yes lol.

Well here are the hitchhikers lol. The black one had something on its flower so that photo won't be so good. Don't know what it was but I'll show it anyway. Then I rinsed it off and there's the same flower but shiny and wet. There's also my blue and turquoise. The turquoise didn't show up that well but here they are. Drumroll please!! I know the suspense is killing you...ok here goes.

I hope that some amazing petunias like the poster above had don't show up. I really dont have any more real estate for them right now. With these I have to widen the walkway. I was thinking of putting stepping stones and then bed number two past it!!

Happy gardening and enjoying my phone pictures lol.

😀

Very nice, Mindi! The only petunias I have are the old-fashioned kind that come up from volunteers, but I love all the shades of pinks and white.
