I put the wrong pic of K. blossfeldiana before, a pink one. This Christmas cactus cutting had a red bloom that was translucent with orange tones to it.![]() (I removed the flower after taking this picture because the cutting is very small and it should not be using its energy on a flower.) Keep going! |

Today I am realizing how few oranges I actually have. My living room is orange, so you would think that I would have more. This Trichocereus has orange-spined babies. As they get bigger the spines become paler. ![]() And I know most people here don't consider Pelargoniums to be succulents, but many are and they grow right alongside the most common South African succulents we keep. Regardless, I'm sharing this anyway because some of the leaves do get bright coral spots on them. ![]() I have had this particular plant for years and sometimes it will throw up a leaf that has six distinct colors on it. Orange is usually the least conspicuous. Keep going! |

Id totally have gotten that species, but the selection of opuntias here in europe is deplorable. At best i have something alike a weird cross between macrocentra and chlorotica. Had a blue santa rita(first one, but killed it). |
Those orange prickly pear flowers are very pretty. The orange sepals are intense. Orange cyathia here (among other colors). These plants do not usually make such colorful blooms. |

AFAIK it is not very cold hardy, I got two cuttings from the DBG at one point, one grew in full sun, but got some weird rot going on, so I removed all but a independently rooted set of about 3 pads. The other one is growing in more shade. It would take the sun OK, but always have a bunch of pretty badly sunburnt pads. I have a large number of cuttings just sitting being cuttings. Not sure about shipping plants internationally, I have heard that is pretty hard to do from the US, but certainly willing to ship some cuttings within the US. They have been sitting around for at least 4 months though so no guarantee how easily they will root (my bet is still pretty easily). What makes it an extra cool plant is, that it does this in the winter: ![]() It is what it is! |

I guess that pad on the stenopetala is more for the purple thread... Here is another Prickly Pear with an orange flower: ![]() Opuntia quitensis. It is what it is! |
