Does anyone have any ideas what this is? It was given to me as a rescue 10 years ago and has spread in my Georgia woodland area to a ground space of 12 square feet. It is about 2' high when it flowers. It is just getting ready to flower now.

It's a campanula...compare to these...
Spotted Bellflower (Campanula punctata 'Cherry Bells')
Korean Bellflower (Campanula takesimana)
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...
