Followup image here for the curious... It took a long time, but those branches are now growing strong. I think the loss of the growth point will end up a net benefit.

That's quite a transformation! It looks like it'll end up a beauty of a plant. I had one that was doing so well in Arizona until I accidentally forgot it outside when the weather dipped to 22. It froze, and there was nothing left to save. :sigh:
