My first peony bloomed on March 26: an unnamed, seed-grown tree peony from Cricket Hill. Each flower was loaded with bees. Unfortunately, the blooms did not last long, less than a week; but they were wonderful while in bloom.

Yesterday 'Maria Teressa' another tree peony bloomed. This is her second spring.

And another — 'Salmon Chiffon' (but it looks more pink than salmon in color), so perhaps I labeled it incorrectly last fall.

And finally, an Itoh but not labeled. Any ideas as to which Itoh it might be?

Very pretty, Mary! Where did you get Maria Teressa and the Salmon Chiffon?

Keep taking pix of that Itoh as it ages and changes colors. That will help in identifying it. Where did you get it as well?

Thanks for sharing with us!!

Mieko,

The 'Maria Teressa' came from Song Sparrow, and the 'Salmon Chiffon' came from Hollingsworth.

The unnamed Itoh came from a local nursery. I bought it many years ago, back before I started labeling my plants. I know it is an Itoh, but that is about all I know.

Mary,
Thanks for the info. We will had to compare your NO ID Itoh to ours as they start blooming. Your is such an early one, so that is quite interesting.

All we need is a fall blooming peony ... or a rebloomer.

Thanks for sharing your pictures, your blooms are beautiful Mary! It's amazing that you live further north than me, and your plants bloomed earlier than mine.

Keep those pretty pictures coming!

Your seed grown tree peony is so gorgeous! The purple color is stunning! What a lucky break! Peony grown from seeds usually produce pink blooms.
