Hi, I have a Japanese Maple (Sango Kaku) that had been planted less than 2 feet away from my house--its about 8 years old. I'm concerned about how close it is to the house & foundation. Should I remove it? I've been told they have gentle roots and they're not invasive but every year it gets bigger and I worry about it a little more.

Hi and welcome to NGA!

I was able to find this information in our Knowledge Base concerning your question about the roots:

Thank you! That is helpful, it reinforces my concerns...I think it will have to come out.
