Hi, I was going out of a corner store when an old lady approached me and asked me if I wanted to buy a small tree, I did to help her, Could you tell me what plant this is?, if it needs direct sun light, much or little water, etc Thank you for your help ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Jade of some kind. Needs sun, good as indoor plant, do not overwater! |

It would love it. Please add your location (state, city) to your profile (the little blue figure in the upper right hand corner) to allow others to help you with any questions you may have about the Jade or any other questions. Mine gave me flowers at a very sunny window but yours is a different jade than mine.![]() |

navitl, Your lovely plant looks like Elephant Bush (Portulacaria afra) ~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt! ~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot! |

It should require about the same care as Crassula (Jade). I have one that remains outside year round and since we have high humidity here, I don't water it very often. ~ I'm an old gal who still loves playing in the dirt! ~ Playing in the dirt is my therapy ... and I'm in therapy a lot! |

navitl said: You're welcome. Portulacaria afra is sometimes called "jade" or "miniature jade" but it's not closely related to jades (Crassula). The resemblance is superficial, probably due to convergent evolution. It's one of my favorite plants. Keep going! |
