I can't see a close view of the leaves but there are some Cotinus with purple foliage; one for comparison:

Would really like to see clear close up pics to show more detail, the shape of the leaves etc
Are they opposite/alternate.?
How big are they?
Doesn't look right for Cotinus and Loropetalum leaves are pretty small.
