I looked in classified but there was nothing I found that was up to date. Did I miss it or isn't there anyone who has iris for sale.

I really would like the bearded. Confused

Hello Jacquie,
The best time to divide and transplant bearded iris is soon after flowering has ended. That is when most people sell their bearded iris. In the meantime, you may wish to browse the iris vendors catalogs and pick which ones you wish to buy. The top thread contains a list of iris vendors recommended by the members of this forum.

Hi, JB! Smiling
Have you yet looked at the list of vendors in the "top thread" of the Irises Forum? I previously never realized that there were so many different irises, as my knowledge was limited to Schreiner's and Cooley's, though Cooley's is no longer around. Have you thought about what kind of irises that you might like to grow?

(Last year was my first year of "getting serious" about growing irises.) Previously, I had grown them for many years in my mixed beds, but paid little attention to them.

I usually buy from Breck's but I thought I would just check here to see if anyone was selling them. I have nothing in particular in mind. A mix of colors is what I am working on. We removed a large bush in the one Iris bed and I wanted to fill in the space with Iris after we move the peonies, etc. Thank you for all your suggestions and help. I will check out the list at the beginning.

JB,

Here is the link for the Delaware Valley Iris Society. They have a sale in July you may be interested in. This location is West of Philadelphia.

http://www.dvis-ais.org/sale.h...

This would be a good way to get named irises at a low cost.

JB ~ I just got a catalog from Joni's Dance-In-The-Wind Iris Garden. She has a lot of irises, but you have to look up the pictures in the database, as the catalog just lists names, descriptions and prices. That said, her prices are very good and she has quite a selection. You can request a catalog at [email protected] . (She is also on Facebook.)

I forgot to say that there are color pictures in the middle of the catalog but not every iris in the catalog is represented.

Hey JB, Welcome! to the iris forums. I usually split irises up, transplant them, and sell them in late summer early early fall. (mid/late August in Nebraska). But with your zone (zone 6b) you might want to do yours about the same time as mine. (mine is 5b) Anyways Welcome! I hope you find what you are looking for. Smiling
Not only people give others signs, but plants do too.

Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
You are all just great. Thank you. I am 89 years old and have been around here for years, in fact I was a member when Dave started his first group, and each time the people get nicer and way this project of Dave and his family has grown is so exciting.
You can be sure I will check out all your suggestions and I feel sure I will find what I need.

I closed my business flower business about a year ago, but still grow Orchid Cactus as a hobby. Too old to do the volume of shipping I used to do. My driving is also limited to the tractor mower just now. I am not a fan of the aging process. I hate giving up many of my favorite things. As long as i have my greenhouse and a few pots to play in I will be happy. Thank you again.

Yes, he is my companion and what a dog. This breed Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
is amazing and quick to train. I was a Jack Russell owner for years until a friend of mine had this pup left over from a litter and at 6 months she wanted to find him a home. He was housebroken, lead trained, everything when I got him. Paid a price but he was worth it two times over. His name of Sir Charles of Concord or Charle (no i) . He has his own facebook page and has quite a following. It is called Here Comes Charle! As you can guess, he is my love.

Thank you for the nice comments.
