We have a plum tree that attracts aphids, which attract the ladybugs and I get to see thousands and their entire life cycle. These are the first of the year that I have seen. I hope you enjoy it. At each stage I'll take a photo.

More stages. I'll put them in order. The stages a lot of people are not familiar with and don't realize they are killing ladybug larva or pupae.
I sound like a PSA lol.

Enjoy!!

The younger the baby ladybug is the longer it is. When I find a very young one I will post it.

My children always called the baby Ladybugs "alligators". If I see any, I will post them too. Smiling

Hi Daisyl,

That's too cute! I finally got my daughter to quit picking them off the tree to play with them. The little crawlers and the ladybugs. She's 8. She says how much they like her lol. I told her that they are mammas here to lay baby eggs and we don't want to bother them.

The tree made saplings and there are chysalises on those so the saplings will stay at the root of the tree until they hatch. If your hair brushes agains the tree leaves you usually get them in your hair Rolling on the floor laughing

Daisyl,

No wonder your children called them alligators!!! I have never been bit moving them from the dirt back onto the tree!! I find that really funny. Alligators!!! I'll be careful now!!

One of my daughters, because of fate or whatever, has been bitten by creatures that NO ONE in the history of the Universe has been bitten by: 'alligator bugs', dragonflies, tomato horn worms, ... She is very special Rolling on the floor laughing

Daisyl,

My mom always told me that dragonfly's bit and that it hurts. So I never caught them. I would catch everything else lol so that's why she had to warn me. As I got older I didn't believe her, but now I do!! Lol!!

Thank you so much for the egg pics. Now I will know what they look like if I see some in my yard. I always have trouble with aphids and I wish I had more lady bugs to help keep them in check.

Honeyx4,

No problem!!! When I was a kid a neighbor lady showed them to me🐞. I was kind of scared of the little crawly ones!! Then later on in life I have a teee full of them. So I decided I wanted to show everybody what they were so that they wouldn't freak out and smoosh them lol Rolling on the floor laughing
Same with the eggs!! Hope that you find some at your house!!
