Ask a Question forum: Is it normal for my tomato stems to narrow at the bottom like this?

I don't see any evidence of rot, but was just wondering is this is something I should be concerned about? First time grower, so thanks for any help!

It's fine. When you plant it in the ground, bury it deep - at least up to the second leaf. It will from more roots on all the underground parts.
