Hello!

I've been growing succulents, cacti and a few other plants for the past few years. Run into the typical scale, mealy bugs, root rot, etc but totally stumped on this new problem with my Kalanchoe Beharensis.

I've included some images to better explain what is going on but on the lower end of the plant, its like parts of it is getting eaten away and then a scab is forming over the area. It got on the joints of one of the leaves and almost caused it to fall off. I removed said leaf.

Plant has been doing stellar in its spot for some time now, just started noticing this a month or two ago. Repotted less than a year ago, has a drainage hole.

Any ideas what is happening to my baby and what I can do to fix it?

Also, as you can see from the 2nd picture, there is a small shoot coming out of the main trunk. I'd love for it to start splitting instead of just growing straight up, is there anything I can do to promote that growth? Already tried notching the trunk below but could try again...?
