Here is the URL, https://www.treepeony.com/coll.... 15% off, that is $12 off a $79 tree peony, 1 year graft. Not sure how they will do. Anyone purchased in the past from them and got a bloom the first spring after planting? |
I purchased from them for the first time this year, got 1 of them in a few weeks ago. There is a pic of the root in the BTB thread, definitely a 1 year graft with nurse root still the only. It looked good, have it potted right now. Have 2 more coming this fall. LizB |

Hi TooMuch, it looks great. Did you plant it last fall? How many buds it got this spring? Are those smaller leaves herbaceous shoots from the nursery root? |
Too Much... that is beautiful. ![]() LG - My garden grows with love and a lot of hard work. |

Hi peonyplan, Yes, it was planted in fall 2017. It has three buds. The two small shoots are from the tree. Thanks Mieko2! |
Toomuch, gorgeous bloom! Peonyplan has a good eye, though. If those differently shaped leaves are from your tree Peony that's a bad thing—your nurse root is putting out new herbaceous foliage which will eventually cause the tree Peony to fail. You need to pinch out those stems and keep them pinched out. All of the foliage should look like that around your bloom. LizB |

Hi LizinElizabeth, Thank you for pointing out herbaceous peony. I forgot I planted one there. I need to relocate it to another part of the garden. |
Glad it was a herbaceous you planted! Makes sense, you probably wouldn't have 3 buds in a tree peony struggling with a sprouting nurse root. LizB |

They now have a coupon code valid until 6/30: TAKE$$10. It will take $10 off orders $75 or more. I have not bought from them yet. Have a couple of Japanese and Chinese tree peonies on my wish list though, which are not offered by other sources in the States. |
